CLoM Dyfi
The CLoM Dyfi Project (Cymuned Leol o’r Mwd) is a programme that brings people together to learn, build, and grow in confidence through hands-on, sustainable building.
The project focuses on supporting women, non-binary, and LGBTQ+ people who are often excluded from practical building skills and local construction spaces, addressing a longstanding lack of representation in these areas.
The sessions look to create a safe, welcoming environment where participants will learn sustainable building skills by regularly working together to construct a small structure using earth, timber, and other natural materials.
Alongside practical skills, the project prioritises space for participants to connect, share experiences, and reflect, placing strong emphasis on confidence, wellbeing, and building a sense of community. Learning is supported through collaboration and shared problem-solving, ensuring participants feel empowered and included throughout the process.
Apply before the 24th of June by 12pm
This project is intended for local people who want to learn practical skills in a space where you will be allowed to bring your enthusiasm but also your insecurities and other precious skills you have.
What if I already have practical experience?
We are also interested in hearing from you. That is why we are preparing two events that will be open to the public. We want to hear what is that you would like to see or what you want to organise.
Join us on the 11th of July at Sploj and help us fine-tune our project
The hands-on building programme focuses on people with low levels of construction-related skills, but our project aims to grow in many other directions, and we would be grateful if you could tell us what is needed.
Do you want to bring and show your skills on the 12th of September?
We want to co-create a big celebration of crafts and skills by women and LGBTQ+ folks. Can you teach a bit of your skills? Do you want to come and promote your work? Please message us to clomdyfi@gmail.com and tell us more about you.
What if I cannot make it to the dates proposed?
Come to our events in July and September. We are planning an engagement event on the 11th of July and a big opening and celebration on the 12th of September.
